Rumor had it that Mark Wahlberg (Ted) will be making it to the cast of the fourth chapter of the Transformers franchise and filmmaker Michael Bay has posted a confirmation in his website. This of course, is bad news for me. The nonsensical narration of one of the most amazing childhood memories are going to be ruined yet again in one commercially-purposed cinematic chapter. Very nice, Bay.
"Mark is awesome," Bay says. "We had a blast working on Pain and Gain and I'm so fired up to be working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers' legacy."
I've been depressed in seeing the first three films, the first one being entirely acceptable, the second loathing, the third one--oh my God I'm going to kill somebody! With the names involved (of course you had to cross out a few names) like Steven Spielberg who is unbelievably became attached to this kind of project, I'm willing to give it one last shot, with really little faith in my bag. Filming is likely to begin next spring to catch up with a slated release in 2014.
Dear Michael Bay, you've already ruined our turtles, please at least don't mess up our robotics? I'm asking you on my knees so don't f*ck it up. Love, ArmandDC (forgive my tiny meltdown :P)
