Miley Cyrus Perks Up with Pilates

Maintaining her slender bod, Miley Cyrus was spotted leaving a Pilates class in West Hollywood on Wednesday (February 29).

The "Can't Be Tamed" singer wore a red lace bra under a grey tank with black yoga pants for her midweek workout session.

Recently, the 19-year-old demanded that Twitter be made to enforce special security measures after getting a string of threatening messages on the social networking site.

A troubled Miss Cyrus tweeted, "I wont tolerate someone telling me 2 die. I think Twitter needs to take some responsibility and make it a safe environment!"

Meanwhile, there's been no response to Miley's concerns thus far,

Can We Restore America ?

The other day, I was listening to a radio commentator and pundit who went on a 30-minute rampage about what is wrong with America. I’m not going to name names because so many on the radio today basically are proclaiming the same message. This individual talked about the decline of America. He proclaimed a message of gloom and doom which included America’s military and economic collapse. It was relentless and ongoing.

Then he got around to the subject of America’s moral collapse. Here’s where things got interesting. He piggy-backed on the recent controversy surrounding comments made by presidential hopeful Rick Santorum concerning his criticism of John F. Kennedy’s remarks about the separation of church and state. Santorum had commented that the words of John F. Kennedy made him want to throw up. The commentator was making a point that human secularists have taken over the government and are in the process of dismantling traditional Judea-Christian values within our society.

I would agree that there is an element of truth in this statement. But the man on the radio doesn’t have the complete story. Does anyone really want the government telling us how we can worship and what God we can serve? I’m of the mindset that we do need a clear and distinct separation between the power of the State and the right to worship as we please. It is beneficial for all of us, Christians, people of other faiths, human secularists, agnostics, and atheists to have the right to believe what we want. As a Christian, I believe God has given us all free will, and we must decide to serve Him or to serve something other than God. We cannot impose our beliefs, values, and faith on people that do not agree with us. It is not the government’s job to endorse or interfere with faith and religion.

I almost get the feeling that so many of the people who speak so loudly on the radio today do not understand the true principles of faith and Christianity. Let me put it this way. Morality cannot be legislated or achieved through the ballet box. Restoring America will not take place at the ballet box either. It doesn’t matter whether Democrats, Republicans, Conservatives or Liberals are in power. The only way I know to restore America is through a spiritual renewal. That renewal must first take place with the people of God and the people of faith. We must reflect the attributes and the very nature of Christ. Unfortunately, like so many of today’s personalities on the radio who seem to be dabbling in Christianity, the Church in general seems to reflect more of today’s modern media culture mentality.

There were a lot of things that the radio host and pundit didn’t talk about. In fact, I seldom hear these things mentioned or discussed. But the key to restoring America lies in understanding some key principles. It’s by no means a complete list; nevertheless, it is a good starting point. Here’s what I think is wrong with the way things are today. Our lives can be defined as a life lived in the marketplace. And I’m talking both figuratively and literally. We live in the marketplace whether we are behind the counter trying to sell something or whether we are in front of the counter buying something. We spend our time either thinking about how to get money, making money, wishing we had more money, or spending money.

We cannot escape the marketplace. There is no refuge. It is constantly with us everywhere we go. Just look at our technology. We are now capable of buying and selling whenever we so desire. I understand money is essential in our economy. That’s nothing new. But something fundamental has changed today. We have taken the marketplace concept to a whole new level unlike anything in the history of man. Even Jesus understood how much we thought about money. Eleven of his 39 parables dealt with the issue of money and stewardship. It was a big deal 2,000 years ago, and it’s become an absolute obsession with our culture today. Some people have said that we have been traditionally a Christian nation. I would argue that we are more like a nation of money worshipers.

Maybe that explains a simple Biblical principle that the love of money is the root of all evil. The very way we do business has become unhealthy to say the least. We used to believe that if we could make a reasonable profit which meet our needs we were doing well. The rule of thumb today is to make as much money as possible, why because there is never enough to satisfy us. If we can make a 20% profit, then why not make a 30% profit. And if we have to ship jobs overseas (cheaper labor and more profit for us), it’s the price we pay (even though that means taking jobs away from America). After all, making money is the first principle that must be served regardless of the circumstances or consequences.

The marketplace mentality has created an environment where making money is not only our right but it’s become our responsibility and duty. I hear very few people commentating about the obsession with money in marketplace principles and how this has fundamentally reshaped our nation and society. And if you want to talk about moral decline, I guarantee you it is tied to the love of money.

We must find some space away from the marketplace. If you want to restore America, everything cannot revolve around the pursuit of money. As the Bible says, you cannot serve two masters. So who is our God? Is it money or is it the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?

Wacom announces Intuos5 pen tablets, we go hands-on!
It's a couple of months since we spotted paperwork for a mysterious "PTK-450" device at the FCC and now Wacom has finally revealed the gadget that goes with the label. The Intuos5 tablet is available to purchase immediately in Small (4 x 6 inches), Medium (6 x 8) and Large (13 x 8) sizes, priced at £200, £330 and £430 respectively. We're still waiting on confirmation of US pricing, but it'll no doubt be less than what a straight currency conversion suggests (i.e. somewhere below $320, $525 and $680). There's actually a fourth variant to add to the trio, but it's not an XL -- Wacom is hoping to up-sell you to a Cintiq 21UX or Cintiq 24HD if you want something bigger. Instead, the fourth tablet is a version of the Medium that comes without touch sensitivity, bringing the price down to £270 if you're able to live with pen-only input. Opting for this particular model will remove one of the biggest upgrades in this three-year product cycle: the ability of the Intuos5 to sense up to 16 finger-touches simultaneously, rather than just the nib of the pen. But there have been other revisions since the Intuos4 aside from touch, and you only have to read on to discover what those are.

Blake Lively's Chilly Day on the "Gossip Girl" Set

Taking a break from filming, Blake Lively was spotted on the New York City set of ?Gossip Girl? earlier today (February 29).

The ?Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants? babe looked snazzy in a green jacket with black leggings and black boots, also wearing a massive black down-filled coat at times.

Over the weekend, Blake and her handsome boyfriend Ryan Reynolds skipped the Oscar excitement in favor of a more toned-down getaway in Nashville, Tennessee.

For breakfast, they stopped by local favorite The Pancake Pantry, though they didn?t get any special treatment.

An eyewitness shared, "The two waited in line for nearly 25 minutes because the Pancake Pantry is known to have long lines. They were also seen around Centennial Park and took in our replica of the Parthenon. It was a beautiful day yesterday.?

Windows 8 to feature adaptive Aero colorization, get it now on Windows 7

windows 8 aero colorization aura
While we've still yet to see anything truly Earth-shattering, the tandem of Rafael Rivera and Paul Thurrott continues to churn out insight about interesting new features they've discovered in Windows 8 milestone 3. The latest discovery is that Aero in Windows 8 will be able to automatically adapt itself to match your current wallpaper image. It's a bit like what Windows 7 already does with your taskbar icons: if a program alert needs your attention, the icon will glow using the predominant color (e.g. Firefox should glow orange).

And yes, you can already make Windows 7 behave this way if you like. Over at CodePlex, there's a little program called Aura that parks itself in your system tray and automatically adjusts your window borders to compliment your wallpaper images. The effect is quite nice, and you can try it out by minimizing your windows and cycling through your theme's wallpapers (right click on your desktop and choose next desktop background).

Sean Young Wants Apology Following Oscar Party Skirmish

You’ve probably heard by now that actress Sean Young was arrested last night following a skirmish with a security guard at the Oscars Governors Ball. Young did not have an invite to the soiree and after said security guard told her to leave, she allegedly slapped him. She was arrested and later posted bail around 3:00 am this morning. Now she wants an apology from the Academy. She told PEOPLE that she wanted to take pictures with some of the party guests so she could post it on her Facebook page. She said that security told her that she had to leave and according to Young, as she began to leave the security guard started grabbing her arm, she tried to pull free from him and in her own words said, “I struck him.” She is adamant that the security guard is at fault and wants an apology. She said, “They need to make a public apology on behalf of their security guard,” adding that an attorney for the Academy who suggested she be placed under arrest issue an apology as well. After last night’s incident, many have speculated that the former Celebrity Rehab cast member has allegedly started drinking [...]

Will 'Dark Knight Rises' Spell Oscars For Batman?

We break down the potential nominations for the Caped Crusader in The Weekly Rising.
By Kevin P. Sullivan

Believe it or not, when Oscar night 2013 rolls around, Batman could be donning his dress cape and walking the red carpet as a nominee.

Granted, no one has seen Christopher Nolan's final Batman film, "The Dark Knight Rises," yet, but it's not entirely outlandish to imagine it could have a big night at the Academy Awards next year. If Nolan sticks the landing, it could mean an unprecedented amount of awards consideration for the beloved series.

For an enormously successful movie franchise, Nolan's Batman films have a frighteningly disappointing number of Academy Awards wins and nominations: nine nods, two wins. That's right: Aside from Heath Ledger's well-earned Best Supporting Actor award, the only other Oscar for the series was for Best Sound Editing on "The Dark Knight."

We here at MTV News would love to see the legend end with a dark victory at the Academy Awards, so here are categories where "The Dark Knight Rises" could see nominations — you know, if it's any good.

Best Cinematography: Wally Pfister
Nolan's trusted cinematographer has been with him since the very beginning, shooting every major feature for Nolan since his breakout, "Memento." Pfister won his first Academy Award last year for "Inception," but for his next collaboration with Nolan, they're going even bigger. If the prologue is any indication, IMAX's role in "Rises" will be unlike anything we've ever seen, embracing the large format in new and exciting ways. With IMAX getting a push as the new trendy technology to get people into theaters, Pfister and Nolan's role in embracing the format could spell an Oscar nomination.

Best Original Score: Hans Zimmer
It doesn't get more ambitious than collecting the chanting of thousands of people around the world and incorporating it into a film's score. Zimmer's worldwide vision for his third time scoring a Batman movie could mark his 10th nomination and his second for a Nolan movie. Sadly, a disqualification due to stiff category rules may be likely.

Best Director: Christopher Nolan
If the Academy collectively loves anything, it's certainly fond of paying old debts. They'll award artists who should have won years ago (Scorsese), and they'll award overall achievements ("Return of the King" wins everything). By the end of all this, Nolan will have done something for the ages. He legitimized a genre and restored an American icon to his rightful place. Not only that, he made two (and hopefully three) excellent and ambitious movies. This is the year you reward him for his efforts and heal the wounds of two egregious snubs for "The Dark Knight" and "Inception."

Best Actor: Christian Bale
Here's a wonderful fact about the age we live in: A very recent Oscar winner is playing Batman. One of the greatest actors of a generation is playing one of the most iconic heroes of all time. That fact alone at the very least puts Christian Bale in the mix. But knowing Nolan, he's not just going to put Bale up against a new set of villains, a flaw of the last set of Batman films. He's going to tell a story about Batman, one that's going to push the hero and the man playing him to the edge.

Best Picture
Could "The Dark Knight Rises" be the next "Return of the King"? The only problem there is that the Academy nominated each "Lord of the Rings" film individually before the finale won the big prize. Nolan's Batman films have always found themselves just outside awards consideration, the closest calling coming after "The Dark Knight" in 2009. Many pointed to "The Dark Knight" as a reason for the expansion of the Best Picture category the following year, so with 10 potential nominees now, statistically, it may finally be its year.

What Oscars do you think Nolan's Batman franchise should have already won? Let me know via Twitter @KPSull!

Check out everything we've got on "The Dark Knight Rises."
