Info Post
Although Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Expected Journey still have to count count a couple of weeks before reaching theaters, Warner Bros. already delivered some news about the J.R.R. Tolkien endeavor. We got renaming and setting of release date with these Hobbit sequels. More on these later.

To those who are living in the cave, The Hobbit will be a fantasy epic, consisting three parts, that will be a direct prequel to Jackson's The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Based on the Tolkien novel of the same name, The Hobbit will start of with the first movie, An Unexpected Journey due on theaters December 14th.

As for the sequel updates, the second pic of the trilogy, in theaters December 13, next year, was renamed and will now be called The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. This news and what's next is according to THR: the final movie of the trilogy is The Hobbit: There and Back Again and will be playing on cinemas July 18, 2014.

Warner Bros. distribution officers explain the short gap between the second and third pics. “We wanted to have a shorter gap between the second and third films. Opening in July affords us not only the perfect summer tentpole, but fans will have less time to wait for the finale of this epic adventure."

Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, president of International Distribution adds: "The Hobbit: There and Back Again will be an action spectacle and an emotional conclusion for this already much-anticipated trilogy. Opening in the summer will maximize playability for what promises to be an event film for fans the world over.”

The second film of the trilogy will have to come battle with X-Men: Days of Future Past, a direct sequel to the X-Men prequel movie, First Class.

With what direction The Hobbit is going, what are your guys say on this? Should you prefer a shorter wait? Or should you like a lengthier production, for an assured quality epic? Drop your comments below.
