Info Post
Hey everyone, Michael here. Dreamworks Animation just formally announced Kung Fu Panda 2 for a June 3, 2011 worldwide 3-D release on regular and IMAX screens! The sequel to this summer's (panda)bear-sized smash ($627 million internationally and counting!) will reunite Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, and others from the original film. Jennifer Yu Helson, head of story on Kung Fu Panda, will direct.

The era of 3-D is now upon us. From BOLT on forward through 2012 and beyond, we will see a constant deluge of 3-D films, content, and related technology...and, finally, it seems as though just about all the deals are in place for a fast digital and 3-D rollout. The virtual print fee agreements are all essentially finalized, and from my vantage point it seems the only major theater chain yet to sign a deal for 3-D screens is AMC Theatres, who have yet to reach an agreement with Real-D. But I'm sure everything will work out--3-D is not just happening, it is HERE.

Editor's Note: The working title seems to be
"Pandamonium". This is a sure fire hit of course - yet another franchise for DWA.
