Jim here. We last saw Eric Brevig's work with JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH ($230m worldwide box office) - which I thought was very well done in 3D. Now comes word from Reuters that he is set to direct the Warner Bros. adaptation of old Hanna Barbera cartoon Yogi Bear entitled YOGI.Joshua Sternin and Jeffrey Ventimilia are penning the screenplay of the much revered cartoon that many of us grew up on. They are setting out to recapture the magic of Yogi Bear, his pal Boo Boo and their adventures in Jellystone Park.
Word has it that Brevig will combine live action with CG to create an ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS type environment.
Personally I would like to see a pure stereoscopic 3D animation with this vehicle but hey, I could be off base I suppose! Can't wait for this one; lots of childhood memories.
