Even before he started filming as Aaron Cross in the fourth installment of the Bourne series (Legacy), Jeremy Renner had wrapped it up in a fantasy/dark/action/thriller called Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. Paramount recently unveiled the trailer which we will have displayed a little bit later.
Renner stars as Hansel, brother to Gretel (Gemma Arterton) whose traumatic experience in a deceitful incident involving fiendish witches had turned them into a determined, purposed and formidable witch slayers.
If it was to be observed, Hansel and Gretel looks like a follower to the trend of fairy tales to dark stories reinventions. Snow White and the Huntsman is a solid example, but somehow, Witch Hunters feels like going to be on the same road as Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, a movie about Abe Lincoln's sideline: tearing off vampires.
Silly premise needs silly execution though, Witch Hunters must learn from Lincoln's history.

The movie will hit theaters early next year, January 11th. Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow) is on the director's chair.
Head inside for the trailer and then tell us what you guys think!
