Info Post

There is officially a throng of high-end directors that are saying no to the (now Disney's) space saga seventh chapter, Star Wars: Episode VII. Speculations naturally arise, and the list of those who deny these speculations just grow. One recent addition to that list is Ratatouille director Brad Bird, who is currently at work in a secretive sci-fi (also Walt Disney's) called 1952, who recently dismissed the rumors - hopeful rumors that is - via Twitter convos.

Brad Bird is understandably a hoped director as he tend to astound. His commendable take on Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol made people to follow him religiously. This is considering that we all have known his comfort zone was animation films (Ratatouille, The Incredibles).

His recent work 1952, while details remain under wraps, is rumored to pivot around a man who makes contact with extraterrestrial life. George Clooney has not yet confirmed the rumors if he's going to headline the uber-secretive sci-fi.

Meanwhile, Star Wars 7 had officially taken Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine) as its scribe. His treatment will involve saga favorites like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo (why am I even mentioning this? lol). He's also writing up for the Hunger Games second film, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

I recently posted that Joe Johnston seemed to be open to the idea of directing and would be a good name to attach. I'd like the idea that they would move forward with Johnston and work until the 2015 targeted release.
