[REC] 4: Apocalypse is in full swing, being the fourth and (probably) the last entry to the infamous zombie franchise, [REC]. I have followed the series since the first in 2007 and this year's third installment. And with the third's letdown this better not suck up (this could serve as an open letter to co-creator Jaume Balaguero). Filmax International just released the official teaser trailer for the film and you can see it below.
The teaser doesn't show any new footage but everything from the first and second film that shown reporter Angela Vidal (Manuela Velasco), but boy do I want to see it so bad.. The third one was campy as hell (although fun in bits), so I get all cross-fingers in this one - I'm rushing to the theaters first thing nonetheless. [REC] 4: Apocalypse follows Vidal, the only survivor of the incident, as she commence to exit her ordeal, unbeknownst to the authorities, she leaves with a strange strain of infection. She goes under quarantine in a high-end security facility, but we all know where this is headed right? Zombies. Zombies.
Hearing the premise it feels like the third one is a throwaway picture, realizing that this is the intended sequel. As far as the usual trilogy goes, when the first two films were neat (in which [REC]'s case is true), the conclusive chapter is, somehow, of the same norm.
The movie is likely to start some time next year. More news (plus side thoughts) as we hear more.
