Rob Zombie's neuer Film wird "The Lords of Salem"

Lange hat man spekuliert was Rob Zombie's nächstes Filmprojekt werden soll. Ganz hoch im Kurs standen Titel wie "Werewolf Women of the SS", ein Remake zu "The Blob" und "Tyrannosaurus Rex". Nun hat Rob Zombie die Gerüchte selbst gekillt und "The Lords of Salem" angekündigt. Das ganze soll in unserer Zeit in der fiktiven Kleinstadt Salem spielen und ein "Hexen-Film" werden. Wie auch schon "House of 1000 Corpses" oder "The Devil's Rejects" basiert auch "The Lords of Salem" auf einem von Rob Zombie's Songs. Zufinden ist das Lied auf "Educated Horses".

Warum Zombie sich dieses Mal für ein gänzllich eigenes Projekt und kein Remake entschieden hat, sagte er dem Fangoria Magazin:
"I wanted to break away from anything related to preexisting material. The remake train is getting pretty tired now and when I made HALLOWEEN, everybody complained, either that it was too much like the original or too different. I like that people either love or hate what I do because it’s better than being in the middle, which means forgettable. But when you do an original premise, they take it on face value and after three years of not being able to win on HALLOWEEN, I just couldn't go through that again."
Gute Entscheidung wie ich finde, auch wenn ich seine Version(en) von "Halloween" ziemlich cool fand.
