Info Post
Let me first tell you what I thought about the first two Madagascar movies. I don't appreciate the unevenness of them films--almost everything was inconsistent: the animation, narrative and even the punchlines lean to the idea of "trial and error". Then the prior scrutiny will halt to an idle, the release of 'Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted'. The movie definitely has improved in almost everything as well: the animation became more crisper, characters more developed, narrative more engaging and punchlines (their running low of good jokes but what the heck, "quality over quantity" right?) downright effective although. With its previous misfires, I thought that 'Europe's Most Wanted' completely saved a bunch of animal's potential cinematic extinction.

Upgraded with pulpy hilarity, better execution and shinier characters, 'Madagascar 3' may just be the motliest of the bunch!

The four furry fugitives of the Central Park Zoo: Marty the Zebra (Chris Rock), Alex the Lion (Ben Stiller), Melman the Giraffe (David Schwimmer) and Gloria the Hippo (Jada Pinkett Smith) resurfaces off of the waters of Monte Carlo. Their first destination: the casino. Their motive: find their flightless frenemies the crew of gung-ho penguins. Things go hilariously wrong as the motley crew of New York fuzzy castaways become most wanted.

Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria were left with no choice but to get home to New York Central Park Zoo, their home. Oh, wait, there's one problem: the authorities are in search for them. The beasts is forced to go unnoticed and decides to join the circus. From there, whacker stuff happens which I could no longer give away as they can spoil the movie--that'd be no fun anymore.

I always thought that the previous Madagascar films were awful for those who prefer more mature humor. That includes me, though I'm at the age of 16. The first Madagascar was darn awful and I didn't like it even as a child; the second one was an improvement and now as a sixteen year-old dude, I admittedly enjoyed the threequel of the animation franchise. Upon watching, I was surprised on how much depth and character development the film was generous to offer. There was one scene in particular in which a brusque tiger talks about how he wants to fulfill his dreams of becoming a circus performer. Right after this scene, as if automatically, my mind told me that this movie can be something profound too, "surprisingly". The beloved fugitives as well have their character developed that even intrigued me more--perhaps this had me glued to the material.

However the main characters are not the stars here. They were ate by the extra characters like Stefano voiced by Martin Short, a madly funny sea lion and the bad ass school of penguins. Every penguin scene was downright hilarious, they keep you suffocating of oxygen each time they drop a punchline. The main villain who is voiced by Frances McDormand was terrific too.

The action sequences are very exciting that makes the film for adult...also. 'Madagascar 3' may not be an entirely remarkable film, but it has the perks of a circus animal: to fool and play around, to have fun and get paid in return. (P.S. I can't get off the "afro circus" song of my head! -_-)
