After a brief, whirlwind romance, Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal have apparently called it quits. The 21-year-old country star and 30-year-old actor reportedly ended their relationship last month and spent New Year's Eve apart (Swift rang in 2011 in Nashville, while Gyllenhaal was in New York). Queen Latifah Gives Marriage Advice to Kate Middleton
In a recent interview, Queen Latifah imparted some handy advice to Prince William fiancee Kate Middleton concerning the future royalty's marriage. "Make sure you have a sanctuary, because everybody in the world is going to be in your business," the Queen told the future princess. Blink 182's Travis Barker Releasing Debut Solo Album
Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker will release his guest-heavy first solo effort, "Give the Drummer Some," on Feb. 22. The album, which Barker helped produce, will feature appearances from Slipknot singer Corey Taylor, B.o.B, Slash, Snoop Dogg, Tom Morello, Lil Wayne, and Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington. However, Barker's Blink 182 bandmates, Tom Delonge and Mark Hoppus, are not credited on the album. (NME)
Titus Andronicus Bassist Quits Band
New Jersey rockers Titus Andronicus have announced that founding bassist Ian Graetzer has left the group. During a Brooklyn performance on New Year's Eve, singer Patrick Stickles told the crowd that the show would be Graetzer's last with the band, and that the amicable split had been in the works for months. Stickles has vowed to find a new bassist by the band's Feb. 10 gig at the Mercury Lounge in New York. ( Spinner)
Lady Gaga's Polaroid Project Coming Thursday
Lady Gaga and Polaroid will unveil their collaborative project, "Grey Label," at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Thursday (Jan. 6). Details of the project, which has been in the works for nearly a year after the pop star signed on as a creative director with the camera company, are still a mystery, although the Polaroid website now features a countdown to the event. David Cook Issues New Album Video Teaser
"American Idol" seventh season winner David Cook has released a new teaser video for his still-untitled sophomore album, which will follow his 2008 self-titled debut. The clip features footage of the singer in the recording studio while pieces of some new songs play in the background. that will be in the album and exclusive footage of the artist in the recording studio.
