Info Post

Fans of the Riddick films have one major reason to elate as the awaited latest chapter is finally moving forward. On our hands is a first-look to the film (unofficially titled as Riddick) and it's title treatment which was shown in a blog post by current filmmaker and also pioneer of the horror-sci-fi-action series David Twohy (back in 2000's Pitch Black).

From his blog: "Been pulling 14-hour days trying to finish RIDDICK. My typical day starts at 9am with intensive visual effects meetings, sweating out the details of our 900 VFX shots. Then I jet across town to the mix stage, Soundelux, where I supervise the sound, balancing out the often-competing elements of music, sound fx, sound design, and dialog. At night I hit the lab, Technicolor in Hollywood, staying until midnight to do “DI work” — color-correction of the movie. This is where David Eggby and I have one last chance to get the images right, dropping in grads and power windows to finesse what we shot on set. It’s a great tool, the Digital Intermediate. Kind of like Photoshop for movies. Gotta love it. Gotta love the challenge of bringing it all home."

Twohy has also directed The Arrival and Below, two tense movies that are also source of style and inspired filmmaking. He was scribe to the delicious chase thriller The Fugitive. Pretty much, Riddick will work well, if not mediocre.

The movie is a direct sequel to the series's last franchise titled The Chronicles of Riddick and follows Riddick (Vin Diesel) who is left for dead in a desolate planet. After luckily surviving his menace, he contrives a plan as to plot revenge on those who abandoned him (who turned out to be his own kind). The movie also stars Karl Urban (Dredd 3D), Jordi Molla, Matt Nable, Katee Sackhoff, Bokeem Woodbine, Dave Bautista, Conrad Pla, Raoul Trujillo, Nolan Funk and Keri Hilson.

All details remain under wraps. You know the drill. Stick with us and get updates.
