It occurred to me that I've been so excited about 'Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace' for the last few weeks. Oopsie. Once I stepped on the theater premises, bam! The excitement scattered and zaps through the thin air. It must be a premonition. Yes, a sign. Oh yes, it must be.
In this "spectacular" 3D cover of the slopped episode of the Star Wars franchise, we get to see everything we saw from the 1999 version. Only this time, we will experience whooshing of different matters and debris popping out of the scene. It hurts me to announce though, that the puppet Yoda, was replaced with a CGI version that just felt suckage.
While it offers a handful of candies to the eyesight, 'Phantom'--its imagery as a whole, as a result of 3D re-imagination, dims the color of the film that aches the retina. If we decline to note that flaw, a sad truth is that Star Wars I, in 3D comes under obscure glare. Scoring was nothing special. An invariable thing to know and an imperative truth to accept is that in this 3-dimensional rendition of our childhood nightmare doesn't change the obscure storytelling and plot. It might in slender chance fidget the younger audience and stiffen the rest, but 'Phantom' does nothing else better but making the eyelids go up and down each time something pops out of the screen. The movie, only proves that the dismissive reviews that it received approximately two decades ago, is what it deserved.
If your childhood was ruined by disappointment of this movie by George Lucas, then hold on to your seats. Stiffen to your awkward postures because Lucas is about to bring back the Star Warsian nightmare yo' young a55es had. 2.5 stars.
'Star Wars: Episode 1' -- Oh no, not again!!!
