Rote TIE-Fighter in "A New Hope"?

Aus gegebenem Anlass erhöhe ich diese Woche etwas meinen Star Wars Content und poste mal dieses kleine Stück Trivia zur Entstehung von "A New Hope":

Wusstet ihr, dass es mal angedacht war, die TIE-Fighter kastanienrot statt grau zu streichen? Ich auch nicht. Der (mit Adleraugen ausgestattete) User GKvfx aus dem "Replica Prop Forum" hat im neuen Making of Star Wars Buch Aufnahmen von rot angestrichenen TIE-Fightern entdeckt.
Auszug aus seinem Beitrag zum Thema:

"A few years ago, one of the SW model guys mentioned that the initial color of the TIE fighter was a shade of maroon. I thought this was an interesting choice as everything in the movie appears to be a different shade of gray or off white. Technically, it was an interesting choice as well since a maroon model probably wouldn't be as prone to bluespill as a gray model. Ultimately, he said, they jettisoned the idea because after some comp tests, they discovered that the smaller the TIE got on screen, the more it blended into the black starfield. OK, makes sense."

Offentsichtliche Gründe für den ungenutzten Look. Trotzdem finde ich die Vorstellung recht cool.
Besonders im Anbetracht dessen, wo diese Farbe (oder leichte Abwandlungen davon) noch in der Star Wars Saga aufgegriffen wurde. Sei es nun bei der Verzierung von Boba Fett' Slave 1, Obi Wan's Star Fighter oder bei einzelnen Clone Troopers in "Revenge of the Sith"...
