Following the most exciting reunion in British pop history, Take That releases their long awaited new album titled Progress—their sixth studio album and the first album to feature Robbie Williams since 1995. Rooted from its name, this album shows much of how the band has progressed from straight-up ballads to fuller, layered songs.

There has been speculation and excitement aplenty since the band reformed as a five piece, fuelled by recent pictures of Gary, Howard, Jason, Mark and Robbie published rowing on the river Thames. This was confirmed and has been made evident in their video for “The Flood” which was filmed on location at Dorney Lake in Eton and along the Thames. It is also the first time they've recorded a full album together since the release of their UK #1 one album Nobody Else, back in 1995.

The reunion of reunions took place in New York last September, following Take That’s record-breaking ‘The Circus Live’ tour. Shortly afterwards all five of the original Take That began writing and recording the six songs which set the foundation for this Stuart Price-produced album. With Robby William’s comeback, Take That have taken a different perspective in this album as they took a giant leap further into the unconventional, embracing electronic stomps, byzantine lyrics, booming drum rolls all in all supported by a huge, widescreen production—furthermore making this album very much interesting.

The album kicks off with The Flood which is a fitting first single as it speaks about Progress and how the band has evolved from the pandemonium of the younger years to the love, endurance and acceptance of the current days. It shows that they might be a little older but they still compete with the younger versions of today and the ones that made it through the years

Take That and Robbie Williams have between them sold over 80 Million albums, played to over 14.5 million people live, won 19 BRIT Awards, had 13 number one albums, 17 number one singles, eight MTV awards and five Ivor Novello awards; and the list goes on… The success they have achieved independently and as a group is extraordinary and undeniable. This new album comes 20 years since the band first sang live as a group on the UK TV show The Hitman & Her in 1990. It's yet another incredible chapter in the Take That story which will no doubt yield even more love, excitement and success over the months ahead.

Like what enthusiasts of Take That would say, Progress is definitely a sprightly fearless album which sounds more like a fresh start rather than a final destination. It features 10 new tracks showcasing an upbeat flavour, powerful vocals and lyrics that are inimitably Take That.
