Info Post
From this point beyond, Film Police will provide brief and to the point film reviews in the "Quick-Case" segment. So once "Quick-Case" is on the title, be assured that the posts are short and less time consuming.

The Omen is an occult horror remade of the film of the same title way back in the '70's. If you haven't saw the original version, and the same time, you are a wee--even just a wee--fan of shocks and gore, this remake you will agree is fine. However, writer Dan McDermott seemed to write with the exact same mindset when writing the script of the remake. The setup: Robert Thorn is a hopeless to father a child, who adopts the son of Beelzebub and finds himself drawn to destroy the devil.  I am not an all-affirmative to remakes but I pledge to see remakes which are fresh and out of the ordinary, at least different from the original film. Flipping to the other side of the coin, the gores were abundant to swallow a phlegm, and the music is impeccably slick.

The Omen as an occult horror is a finely made one. Great shocks, gore, and music. However, one of the main pillars of the movie is crusting and is about to fall--the script. The same
old. Same old. 2.5 stars!
