The setup: Asiong Salonga is your old school couzin' gangstah. The douche is drawn by a series of events between lawmen and criminals.

Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story succeeds with giving us something up-a-notch this Metro Manila Film Festival. It is not the most spellbinding action/drama Pinoy movie, but it is bewildering with its effort, creativity, and rawness. George Estregan, Jr. is a surprise and Carla Abellana stays innocently compelling in terms of acting. The black-and-white cinematography ignites the spark of the thought that the imagery of the film is creatively fantastic. Estregan's lower casts is stunningly convincing, taking John Regala for instance, and the other younger fields to freshen up the setting. An added fun by Dennis Padilla stirs the movie to a delicious soup. With all that being said, admission is this film deserves. However, flaws are inevitably visible: especially when they compressed almost six-years of Asiong Salonga's life, completely forgetting some minor details in the film.

The film, like a piece of steel is shot by the gun, left a hole. These holes made it look tougher, ans powerful. It's a great thought that the action genre is rising from the dead. This movie ain't bulletproof, but it has the ass like a gangster! 4 stars! **by far the best movie in the festival, for me. Enjoyed it, holla!
