Info Post
The first time that I was able to watch a film on 3D, was the modest hit: 'Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D', which happened to be to date's 'Journey's' predecessor. A gigantic bus-sized lizard enraged; gold-spitting volcano; and a pissed-off electric sea animal does cover up the 3D scenes.

After his first journey, Sean (Josh Hutcherson, reprising his 'Journey (2008)' role), now a 17-year old rebel, finds himself on another journey with his new stepdad, Hank (Dwayne Johnson) whom he doesn't seem to like very great, on the way to 'the mysterious island' after he receives a signal from his grandfather, Alexander (Michael Caine).

The demography of the surreal island is strongly colorful with ginormous flowers sprouting here and there. Buzzing bees that comes as an instant flight; and a magnificently-put sweeping landscape of a floating (SPOILER) Atlantis. The vivid and lively setting is sometimes visibly phony as minute versions of elephants and great whites approach the 3d screen. The relationship between Josh and Hank is an element of the film that is tastefully highlighted with shrewd goofiness and sometimes looking like bromance rather than a father-son, which is tolerable, still. However, in a family drama, the grocery list doesn't end with just fun and adventure. Some sting of terror that will make the kids stiff and unable to poke out their heads off their palms. And 'Journey 2' lacked of it. There was not really a great amount of elements that will scare people; except for Johnson's dancing man-boobs, that will lead us to something scary.

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is at least an entertaining episode, of which does it follows up to? Under the Sea? Or Journey of the Center of the Earth? We ignore. Journey 2, may somehow trash Verne Jules' writing abilities, but at least people will enjoy. 3 stars.
