Info Post

CBS just announced that the movie adaptation of Square Enix's cyberpunk video game Deus Ex: Human Revolution finally gets a director. Sinister director Scott Derrickson will direct and write the movie, with C. Robert Cargill helping him with the screenplay. Roy Lee (The Departed) and Adrian Askarieh are going to produce along with John P. Middleton who is exec producing.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution follows Adam Jensen, an expert in security or some sort hired by Sarif Industries, a dramatically growing biotech firm. Terrorrists eventually attack the Detroit-based Sarif firm under his watch. This leaves him badly wounded and the only way to save him was to replace his body parts with prostheses. He sets out to find out who is responsible for his sudden ordeal. He soon unravels something that besides being augmented, changes him forever.

The video game is an instant commercial hit when it was first released 2011 remaining firm #1 on global sales charts.

"Deus Ex is a phenomenal cyberpunk game with soul and intelligence,” said Derrickson. “By combining amazing action and tension with big, philosophical ideas, Deus Ex is smart, ballsy, and will make one hell of a movie. Cargill and I can't wait to bring it to the big screen."

This is of course good news. Derrickson made the world abuzz by doing Sinister with only $3 Million on hand. You can picture what he can make with a bigger project like Deus Ex.

All details are currently under wraps but details are likely to follow and you will hear as we do.
