Info Post

Whatever happened with Lee Pace playing Peter Quill? Shame.

Variety announced that sources told them that the hunt for lead star for the upcoming Marvel project, Guardians of the Galaxy, just narrowed down to two. There were initially eight actors tested and now it shrunk into two with Cloud Atlas star Jim Sturgees and (not included in the list) Zachary Levi (Thor).

This is no official word, but Marvel supported, so it's kind of the same story.

Pace is obviously my top choice on playing GOTG team player. He evidently has the closest physique and features to Peter Quill and I'm boggled that they went with Strugees and Levi as the last two standing. For one, Sturgees, while he's real good, I can't imagine playing Star-Lord. Levi, on the other hand, is tied in Marvel's cinematic universe as he appears in Thor as Fandral, one of Asgard's Warrior Three. If he appears twice in the same universe, that'd be great conflict.

From here, all we can do is wait until final word arrives. If casting for Star-Lord is ever going to be finished, Drax the Destroyer, Groot, Rocket Racoon and Gamora will have to follow. Guardians of the Galaxy is hoped to reach theaters August 1st, 2014.
