Info Post

Wherever this leads us the journey has been perplexing quite enough. You don't know what Marvel is up to. The role had a couple of fitting actors up for testing already, but the studio seemed looking for more. For this I admire them, but a couple more news like this it might start to earn some groan.

The initial list of actors include Lee Pace (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2) who has confirmed he has auditioned and Cloud Atlas star Jim Sturgees who is now on the narrowed down list along with Zachary Levi ("Chuck") and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises). Now, with word coming from his Twitter account, Michael Rosenbaum (Catch .44) seems an addition to this too.

Rosenbaum is a decent actor and deserves some kind of exposure (this could be it for him, read how he embraces the news in his tweet below). I loved him as Lex Luthor in CW's "Smallville". Besides this, his filmography is populated by voicing jobs in animated series and video games. He was The Flash in the  Justice League cartoon.

Of course, competition is tight. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, anyone?

The character Quill (a.k.a. Star-Lord) was raised on Earth but he learns that his father is from outer space. This draws him to an intergalactic feud and chaos which ultimately leads him to head the team of Guardians. After this finishes up, Marvel has a couple more castings to call, including for the characters of Drax the Destroyer, Groot, Rocket Racoon and Gamora.

Guardians of the Galaxy has a slated release August 1st, 2014.
