"There's a reason why man never gone back to the moon." A witty line that would definitely bring in some potential viewers to Apollo 18, a trying hard Sci-Fi thriller. "There's a reason why you shouldn't watch this." And if the trailer that looked like a mocking piece of crap isn't enough for you. Film Police is right here in a jiffy to break down reasons why you shouldn't watch this an hour and a half of boring scenes.
NASA strongly rejects the authenticity of the footage that are in this film; however, for some odd reason, some people believes that these footage are real--a year later when Apollo 17 took off to the universe, Apollo 18 is a fatally fiendish trip to death.
If you're drawn to this movie by the witty line on that poster; then prepare for 80 minutes of flat-emotions; a viperous sting of boredom; and some desperate attempts by director: Gonzalo-Lopez Gallego. The footage in the film is a relief: it's convincing enough. It gave us a view of the moon landscape, probably the sole reason that made this movie interesting, in my opinion. However as we scope out to a wider landscape--the movie as a whole--it becomes less credible. Shocks are not effective and actors are not gripping, though convincing.
Whatever reason Apollo 18 behind their gimmick, I don't care. Bottom line is: it didn't work. And I can give you a handful of reasons why you shall not watch it. 2 stars.
