Info Post
As for the cynicism, I had to turn it down. I was in the cinema with my block mates and they were all "go" for an hour or two of ensuing occult mayhem via "The Last Exorcism", a film that modestly succeeded back in the year 2010. With the thought that a movie experience is never better without the company of some people you know, I convinced myself to watch the horror.

The pseudo-documentary, silently whispers how raw and ravishing the imagery would look, follows Reverend, Cotton Marcus, a con artist who brings his camera and crew and film a fake exorcism to a girl, and then as an exorcism movie's convention would pursue, Cotton is faced to a far more fiendish encounter. And this. Is real deal.

Setting the bars of exorcism horrors via 'The Exorcist' by William Friedkin year 1973, by far known as the 'top horror of all time', exorcism flicks are becoming more of a risky choice for passionate movie makers. However to money generators, exorcisms are always a good choice since a lot of people, intrigued, intend to watch these commotions. Anyway, back to the critique, The Last Exorcism intends to start no competition, well, the fact that it won't get even with the classic does, but instead re-imagining the storytelling of these kinds of flicks, faux documentary (does 'Grave Encounters' ring a bell?). One of the good things about the film is that we get to participate in witnessing Cotton, getting scared off his ass, and convinces himself that Nell (the possessed one) needs psychiatric help. But the stupid reverend is so incorrect. I find some moments distinctly horrific and terrifying; although some: silly and almost laughable. But that is an issue to the church especially to this date when media resembles greatly to 'state'; therefore the church will be pissed to be laughing all day about religion.

'The Last Exorcism' is a brave attempt and approach, balancing the scary moments with a sting to some with satire. It ultimately isn't enough to be an A-movie though. 3 stars.
