In retrospect to Eli Roth's work: 'Cabin Fever', a worth B-movie; 'Piranha 3-D', a modest success, and a handful of fun and great movies that I personally enjoyed watching. With that said, Roth being involved, writer of the characters, to the 3rd film to the Hostel series, I believe would be worth a shot, of course considering the maligned fall out of its predecessor.
With nothing likewise in his mind, Scott alongside his friends went to the city of sin to have his bachelor's party, escorted by two sexy ladies to the Strip, only to find themselves trapped in a game of torture hosted by the Elite Hunting Club for the most sadistic show of killing spree in the city of Las Vegas.
Actor slash Director Scott Spiegel toys around his audience by opening the movie with such charismatic satire and humor and finish it off with such fiendish experience. Of course, Hostel Part III being a direct-to-video, direct-to-DVD, or whatev it is called, had its pitfalls like human nature, but generating a decent amount of gore, intimacy, and mayhem, and clever plot, I would consider it forgivable. While it thrives in keeping us to the edge of our seats; it deliciously twists us relatively to the twists and turns of the story. With those, the flick generated some scenes and shocks that are sometimes are tastefully unexpected. Which is a good thing. Watching it on DVD is such a minute experience that I for some moment wondered to watch it on theaters if that would have been possible. That's how good this scare fest is.
Hostel III is a fun, fast-paced, and ferociously scary movie that shivers you from your feet to your shoulders. Given that it is a direct-to-DVD type, it is good to see how it came out cleverly as a shocker. 3.5 stars.
