Info Post

The new trailer for the upcoming action-thriller Parker starring Jason Statham (The Transporter) and Jennifer Lopez (The Back-Up Plan) just released online (via IGN). It boasts of some more footage and a snappier structure than the first one, but the last stunt sequence in the trailer definitely earned me. You can watch it at the very end of this post.

The movie follows a particular thief named Parker (Statham) who lives by a certain code - yes, the "Dexter" kind, you can say. He eventually gets double-crossed by his crew and gets left for dead. This event leads him to assume a new identity as a disguise in order to set the score even by hijacking the score of his ex-crew's latest heists, who now perfectly fits his code. This he'll do with the help of an insider (Lopez).

Nick Nolte (The Thin Red Line, Warrior), Michael Chiklis (The Shield), Clifton Collins, Jr. (Star Trek, Mindhunters), Wendell Pierce (Horrible Bosses), Emma Booth (Swerve), Patti LuPone (Witness) and more co-star in this movie directed by award-winning Ray director Taylor Hackford (who also did The Devil's Advocate) and written by Black Swan writer John McLaughlin based on a novel by Donald E. Westlake, "Flashfire."

"It's not vengeance," in dynamic and striking text animation it reads. "It's payback." Good, it sounds ridiculous. I'm simply bought.

Parker opens in theaters January 25 next year, following the hotly anticipated Tom Cruise movie Jack Reacher (based on a novel by Lee Child and directed by Christopher McQuarrie) which comes out next week, December 21st.
