Info Post

The first trailer for Iron Man 3 is intriguing as it is apprehending. Fanboys had apprehension, guessing that the movie will stay to the "serious" tone of its trailer, and we know that if we're watching Tony Stark, we can't settle for just serious. Makers of the movie clarified the matter via an interview with The West Australian.

"It's not a serious movie, but we seriously dig into exploring more of Tony. The trick is just trying to make great movies. We try to make them all great, all different and all fresh. What you'll see in Iron Man 3 is some very unique directions that were taken," Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige had told the magazine.

Director Shane Black adds, "We're not aiming for bigger, necessarily. We're aiming for different and fresh and new. It's all about capturing that lightning-in-a-bottle feel, about trying to get as much into this as we can. We're looking to get a ton of thrills into a short space, to make a nice little stew for you."

"You can dissect why [The Avengers] was the right movie with the right people and the right director at the time. But we feel the same way about Iron Man 3 now," star Robert Downey, Jr. told that the changes only seem to make fit.

(Okay, just don't suck this one up. I loved Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and I trust Black's abilities, but the story seems a bit off, especially if we're endorsing the "serious" tone of the movie. I can't stand watching a Tony Stark if I don't get them slick one-liners.)

Under Kiss Kiss Bang Bang director Shane Black's helm, Iron Man 3 follows Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.), as his life and those who are close to him are threatened, having his identity as Iron Man out in public. The Mandarin turns the industrialist down, leaving him to fight back with very limited resources and to save the things that he is defined by: Pepper (Gwyneth Paltrow) and mankind.

To be released internationally on 3D on May 3rd, 2013.
