Info Post

After a few final talks of directing Guardians of the Galaxy, director James Gunn is officially aboard. It's only fitting to commence casting the lead character of the upcoming Marvel space-set superhero blockbuster. Deadline, in their exclusive report, tells that a couple of actors are already being considered in playing Peter Quill, better known as Star-Lord.

Among names are Joel Edgerton (Warrior, Zero Dark Thirty), Garrett Hedlund (TRON: Legacy), Jack Huston ("Boardwalk Empire"), James Marsden (X-Men, Tangled), Lee Pace (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2), Eddie Redmayne (My Week with Marilyn), Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas) and Sullivan Stapleton (Animal Kingdom). Pace, of course would be my choice, if not Edgerton.

Quill is obviously the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy. From earth, he travels to space after learning his father is from another world. Conflicts arise and Quill is thrust in the middle of a long battle against an evil alien race.

Drax the Destroyer, Groot, Rocket Racoon and Gamora are yet to find their actors, so check back later as we will post them all along the confirmation on who's going to be the reel Star-Lord. Guardians of the Galaxy targets an August 1, 2014 release.
