Info Post

The phenomenal and multi-awarded, singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift, is back with her third studio album titled “Speak Now.” This highly-anticipated deluxe album contains 14 + 8 bonus tracks, all written solely by Taylor and co-produced with Nathan Chapman. Taylor has clearly lived and learned much over the past two years, and she is eager to share the intensity of her experiences through this new album, as she draws a mixture of emotions such as a witty confection like “Sparks Fly” or a heart-wrenching post-breakup lament such as “Last Kiss.”

At its best, “Speak Now” captures the sweet ache of becoming an adult, as only those who are still in the process can articulate. Each song is well crafted, and the lyrical content is so honest and relatable. The richness of this album’s repertoire is sure to captivate legion of Taylor’s fans here and across the globe.

Listening to the songs in this album is more like reading Taylor’s diary."Saying the right thing at the right moment is so crucial that most of us start to hesitate, for fear of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. But lately what I've begun to fear more than that is letting the moment pass without saying anything," Taylor says of the very personal collection that is “Speak Now.” "These songs are made up of words I didn't say when the moment was right in front of me. These songs are open letters. Each is written with a specific person in mind, telling them what I meant to tell them in person."

Four-time GRAMMY award winner Taylor Swift is the top-selling digital artist in music history, has had singles top both local and global Country and Pop radio charts, and had the #1 best-selling album in any genre of music in 2009. This year, at the age of 20, she became the youngest artist in history to win the music industry’s highest honor, the GRAMMY Award for Album of the Year. Her “Fearless” album is the most awarded album in Country music history. Here in the Philippines alone, both “Fearless” and “Fearless (Platinum edition)” reached 8X Platinum in both retail and digital sales. Taylor has more than 7.4 million Facebook friends, more than 3.6 million followers on her Twitter account, and has had more than 273.8 million music plays on her MySpace page.

With the historic debut of her latest single “Mine,” which locally has topped music hit charts and has significantly remained in the upper notches across pop hit radio stations, Taylor has been redefining history with every record-breaking recognition that she gets and as early as her debut album which bagged the title of the only album in this decade to stay in Billboard’s Top 200 for 4 uninterrupted years...and the first to do so since Metallica’s Eponymous album in 1997!

Remarkably, Taylor Swift’s “record-breaking” streak continues as “Speak Now” is now the Highest Country Studio Album Debut in HISTORY!—and this happened in just a week’s time, after her album’s US release last October 26. In the US, “Speak Now” accounted for 18.0% of total album scans this week, including 16.6% of all digital albums and 18.8% of all CD albums. This % breaks the mark for percentage of total sales in a single week topping NSYNC's record of 15.3% back in March 2000, when “No Strings Attached” sold 2.4 million. That means one out of every 5 CDs or download sales this week was “Speak Now”. In addition to that, “Speak Now” is the first album to sell one million copies in a week since Lil’ Wayne’s “Tha Carter III” which sold 1 million copies in June 2008 and the biggest single week sales total since 50 Cent’s “The Massacre” sold 1.1 million copies in March 2005. It nearly doubles her best sales week to date, topping the 592,000 copies sold of “Fearless” in November 2008.

With just one week of sales, Swift currently has the eighth biggest selling album to date in 2010 and the second biggest Country album this year. With 278,000 digital albums sold, she has the biggest one week digital sales total since Coldplay sold 288,000 digital copies of “Viva La Vida” in June 2008 and she holds the highest number of country digital albums sold in one week topping her Fearless release in 2008 which sold 129k first week. Topping the digital country charts is “Sparks Fly” followed by 10 other tracks from her “Speak Now” album.

Taylor Swift’s success can indeed be measured in numbers and growth and her new album, “Speak Now” further solidifies this 20-year-old artist as one of music’s greatest stars. She plans to tour in support of “Speak Now”, and is currently slated to play 85 shows in 18 countries in 2011 and that includes a concert in the Philippines on February 19, 2011 at the Araneta Coliseum!
