Info Post

In a recent post we knew of Super 8's Joel Courtney and The Walking Dead's Chandler Riggs headlining the upcoming print-to-screen Stephen King movie, Mercy. Now word came from Variety, reporting that American Horror Story alumnus Dylan McDermott (The Campaign; The Perks of Being a Wallflower) will also come aboard on the horror project.

In the adaptation which is based from a short story by King called "Gramma" (from his collection of short fiction, "Skeleton Crew"), Courtney and Riggs will play two brothers who along with their mother visits their gramma who unknown to them is a witch who made a deal with black magic in the past. This evil deal, of course has grave consequences.

Peter Cornwell (The Haunting in Connecticut) is at work behind-cam on the movie of which script was penned by Matt Greenberg, who helped in working the script for 1408, another King adaptation. Jason Blum, McG and Mary Viola are all on board as producers. Frances O'Connor, who recently appeared in the Willem Dafoe adventure-drama The Hunter, assumes the role of the mother.

All other details are undisclosed of the moment, but we're posting as they emerge.
