Info Post

Father-and-son Will and Jaden Smith (Pursuit of Happiness) is set to appear in the post-apocalytic sci-fi After Earth directed by M. Night Shyamalan (Signs) and written by Havoc writer Stephen Gaghan. Sony Pictures released the trailer online which you can watch as you read on to the very bottom.

The movie follows a crash landing leaves teenager Kitai Raige (Jaden Smith) and his legendary father Cypher (Will Smith) stranded on Earth, 1,000 years after cataclysmic events forced humanity’s escape. With Cypher critically injured, Kitai must embark on a perilous journey to signal for help, facing uncharted terrain, evolved animal species that now rule the planet, and an unstoppable alien creature that escaped during the crash. Father and son must learn to work together and trust one another if they want any chance of returning home.

The trailer looks a lot of promise, but one must be reminded of The Last Airbender and The Happening (yes, that Mark Whalberg-Zooey Deschanel thriller mess). On the upside, After Earth doesn't actually has Shyamalan's name on the title treatment. Watch it below.

The movie reaches screens June 7th next year.
