J.J. Abrams's sequel to his well-made reincarnation of Star Trek (Star Trek Into Darkness) is in full swing, reaching theaters everywhere in the world May 17th next year. We have laid our hands on the first poster that Paramount Pictures just released - and as always you can see them right to the very end of this post.
In the sequel, James Kirk (Chris Pine) chiefs a manhunt mission to capture a "one-man weapon of mass destruction" after an "unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything that it stands for." Read the entire synopsis here.
Starring Chris Pine (Unstoppable), Zachary Quinto (American Horror Story), Karl Urban (Dredd 3D), Zoe Saldana (The Losers), Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead), John Cho (Flash Forward), Bruce Greenwood (Super 8), Anton Yelchin (Fright Night), Benedict Cumberbatch (War Horse), Alice Eve (She's Out of My League) and Peter Weller (RoboCop).
Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy has influenced contemporary cinema in great amounts and its visible in this poster. It depicts the Starfleet symbol with Kirk standing in the middle - it borrows the vibe of the recent The Dark Knight rises one-sheet. Okay, it looks too much like the poster, but I've long ceased bashing movies that I know that are going to be good regardless their petty issues.
