Info Post

Jamie Foxx recently talked with MTV and he practically gave away his character's back story in the upcoming superhero sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

While him playing the villain role of Electro is already keeping the fanboys all but cracked, he seem to have pushed things up to an uproar in his interview. "Marc Webb and all those guys who are doing it are smart," the Django Unchained star says. "They know that it has to make sense in 2013 so the suit is really slick. It's not green. It's actually black."

He further explained that the movie is going with a more serious tone with the character. (In the comics Electro was a lineman who, after a freak electrocution, mutates to a lightning-enduring man. After knowing of his powers, he sets out and incidentally kills his thug debtor and from there, it's all "I have lightning powers and I can kill you, I will too").

"What you'll see is that, for his whole life, no one is talking to him," Foxx continues. "People have stolen his ideas at the big company. He's a nobody. At a certain point, Spider-Man bumps into him and says, 'You're my guy. You're my ears and eyes on the street.' Then he says his name, [Max] and no one has ever said [Max] Dillon's name. He goes, 'Wow' and, when Spider-Man leaves, he sort of thinks that, "I am Spider-Man's partner!" He's cutting out Spider-Man's face and pasting it on all his boards... Everything goes bad with his mom. She doesn't remember his birthday. He has something tragic happen and, when it turns on, he lights it up."

The second TASM already has Dane DeHaan (Chronicle, Lawless), Andrew Garfield (The Social Network, Never Let Me Go), Emma Stone (Crazy, Stupid Love., Gangster Squad), Martin Sheen (The Departed, Catch Me If You Can) and Shailene Woodley (The Descendants) as confirmed cast.

Directed by Marc Webb ([500] Days of Summer) who also did the first movie, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be on theaters May 2nd,  2014.
