"Mama says I'm a sinner," Carrie scribbles on her notebook. Hence our next viral photo for the movie (as seen above, via Facebook).
If you already have read the book (read my book review), you'll hint that this happened when Carrie had the Blood in her. It intensified when she was asked by Tommy Ross (Ansel Elgort) to the prom. When Margaret "momma" White is pissed she would lock Carrie up in a closet where she is forced to repent of her "sins" and say her prayers. This scribbling has got to be written when she was in there.
Carrie's promotion has been very impressive, sending out previews in the form of set and viral photos. The only real first look was a poster and a very short teaser trailer. To tell that this didn't keep me intrigued would be hypocrisy.
A retelling of the tale about a young girl named Carrie (Chloe Moretz) with telekinetic powers. A natural outcast, Carrie was always the person to be picked on at high school. Further depressed by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore) who makes life even more than of a stretch, Carrie unleashes demise to the whole town moments after having her worst prom ever.
Based on the Stephen King novel, Carrie is the intensely anticipated remake of the Brian De Palma (Carlito's Way) original, which swept a couple of Oscars for its actors. This time around, Kimberly Peirce, director to transgender drama Boys Don't Cry, sits on the director's chair to reborn the iconic teenage character back on screen. The pic takes Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's screenplay.
Carrie is wreaking havoc in theaters March 15, 2013.
