Info Post

Tomorrow night's Halloween night, and I figured it's only right to write a post about it. Hence, this very short list. My idea of a "Halloween" movie is the type that spits out fun in the audience's faces, while sustaining the "scary" in its core. In this post, I will be listing down my top 5 watchable movies this season.

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1984)

Killer dreams, the screech of metal fingers and the burnt face of Freddy. These element stir up to a legitimate creepy nature, but what makes it fun is the clever and darkly comic punchlines of the main antagonist, freaking what is left of his victims.

TRICK 'R TREAT (2007)

C'mon? You know I'd go here, right? An anthology of four loosely woven horror stories that occur in the same Halloween night, Trick 'r Treat is a celebration of the Halloween festivity, but a potent reminder of what horrendous things are at work.

AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON (1981)

Lycanthropy is one of the many horrors you don't want to encounter. What happens with two American tourists in London is the exact opposite. An American Werewolf London is a very smart blend of horror and humor, and is one of my top horror movies of all time.

EVIL DEAD (1981)

The 1981 horror classic is as entertaining as it is visceral. A group of twenty-something friends unknowingly summon the demons when they read a mystique book about the dead. Sam Raimi's raw talent first came out in here, and look at where he's headed now. Throw in some pop corn and Halloween parties are complete.

HALLOWEEN (1978)

Arguably the best horror movie of all time, and the most enjoyable too. What I swooned over for Halloween was how its simple narrative made way for many of the scary moments of my entire life (and I'm not exaggerating). It has the perfect villain, Michael Myers, who is just completely and purely evil. There's freakish stuff in here that makes it watchable even if you have watched it a million times before. This movie is the perfect Halloween movie, if you're up to some hardcore horror and macabre.
