We got our hands on a set of character posters for Gangster Squad, the long-delayed Ruben Fleischer project due to a real-crime incident that's somehow related to a key sequence of the film. We've posted the official poster a couple of days ago, and in addition to the character posters, we also have the new trailer for the film as you read on until the end.
Opening on theaters January 11th next year, the film will concern a group of policemen, who shrugs off Mafias of Los Angeles, whatever it takes, and however they will do it. Set in the 40's-50's, the film stars Sean Penn (Carlito's Way), Ryan Gosling (Drive), Josh Brolin (Men In Black 3D) and Emma Stone (The Amazing Spider-Man). Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) takes the director's seat while Will Beall turns the Paul Lieberman book into screenplay.
Here are the character posters:
Check out the new trailer below.
The posters have some innate punch to them that more and more keeps me invested in following the release of the film. The poster looks equally gritty and while the theater shootout sequence is one of the many important sequences in the film (my belief), how the trailer presents it, we're in for some real punch once it hits on theaters. It may be recalled that they reshoot scenes in Chinatown, LA, as replacement for the theater shootout scenes.
Let us hear what you guys think about Gangster Squad and where it's headed to.
