Info Post
As reported earlier, Matthew Vaughn has declined to direct the fifth X-Men movie, Days of Future Past and as hoped by many fanboys, like me, X-Men  and X-2 director Bryan Singer nabs the job. Singer temporarily left the franchise when Brett Ratner's X-Men: The Last Stand came out, and only returned with the fourth chapter, the prequel, X-Men: First Class, on board as producer. First Class had Vaughn as director, who is now tagging along as producer with Singer on the director's chair.

This is, in my opinion, some good news that they had Singer to come on board as director, especially with the kind of premise the movie is at. Vaughn has to have it, but Singer's got some of it as well.

Based on the 141st and the 142nd 'Uncanny X-Men' comics, Days of Future Past will concern the X-Men in an alternate future wherein an important part of the government is killed, triggering a chaotic battle involving sentinels. The Chris Claremont and John Bryne comic book is translated into film by screenwriter Simon Kinberg whose most credible work is the recent Sherlock Holmes. The pic is hoped to reach screens by 18th of July, 2014.

Meanwhile, Singer has made Jack the Giant Killer, one of those fairy tale-sourced movies that turn out epic, due on theaters March 1st next year. He also has directed the "Mockingbird Lane" Halloween special which recently aired over NBC.

More on this news as we hear more.
