Alex Russell's on-screen gal in found footage hit Chronicle, Ashley Hinshaw lands on a role in a drama feature, About Cherry.
The pic centers on the life of Angelina (Hinshaw), a troubled tweenteen who gets involved in pornography. Angelina meets a rich lawyer Francis (played by James Franco) who prizes the company of cocaine.
Debuting director Stephen Elliot is a known activist and have his perks so that settling a story whose subject matter is this controversial is less effort-demanding. He co-written the script with Lorelei Lee, another new name in the feature biz.
While the movie eyes some potential in failure in execution, About Cherry looks like a US drama, which subject matter is rarely discussed. May be worth the time. The pic, also stars Heather Graham, will open in a limited USA release by September 21.
While on-screen lad in Chronicle, Alex Rusell just wrapped up for the monster movie Bait 3-D (click here to watch the trailer), Hinshaw is currently filming for a Dennis Iliadis (director of The Last House on the Left) thriller, Plus One.
