Global James Bond Day, is an annual celebration of James Bond movies all over the world since its very first release through Dr. No. In Manila, Philippines, October 5th, right now, the iconic steel-framed globe in SM Mall of Asia will display a message in celebration of the 50th Bond day.
Based on a series of books by Ian Fleming, 007 is the longest running franchise in cinema with more than twenty films and counting from the first ever Bond film, Dr. No to the anticipated Skyfall. James Bond was already played by Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and the latest Bond: Daniel Craig (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo).
In the UK, as participation to the mentioned event, an auction is held selling different memorabilia from all the Bond films that were played on theaters. In the US, a retrospect with the past Bond films are being held in the Museum of Modern Art in NY and a "Music of Bond" night being held in the Academy of Motion Picture and Sciences in LA. Other countries have special events on their own, including Philippines, with the aforementioned and the pre-selling of tickets to the latest James Bond film, Skyfall.
Skyfall is reaching worldwide theaters due November 9th.
