It's officially James Bond's 50th cinematic birthday and fanboys and girls all over the world are celebrating with their own special events. Friday, October 5th, 2013, marks the 50-year anniversary of the longest running film franchise in cinema's history.
Coincidentally, the long-awaited theme song for the film, is released online via Adele (artist in the track) herself. Via YouTube, Adele have posted a lyric video to the song that's going to appear anywhere in the run time of the newest Bond film Skyfall. You have the option of buying it on iTunes at $1.29 per download, or just listening to it as you head more inside.
The track, titled the same as the movie, frankly has the merits to be in a Bond film; Adele has got enough soul that, I think, honestly, would do good for the movie. But the track is a bit underwhelming--we were looking for the "kick" that most Bond songs have. The beginning verse of the pic is impressively dramatic, but the chorus gives it all away, and decreases the consistency of the song, and no, it's a bit off from orchestration. Regardless, the track has got some soul into it, that would be perfect in climactic (tragic, rather) scenes of the movie, or just the ending credits, maybe.
You can catch Skyfall on theaters November 9th, directed by Sam Mendes (Revolutionary Road)
