Info Post

Daniel Radcliffe is moving forward from being Harry Potter for less than a decade, and it's really good that things are turning around these times. He will next play a young man with growing horns in Alexandre Aja's Horns after playing a young dad tortured by malevolent spirits in The Woman in Black. He plays Ignatius Perrish, or simply "Ig", who wakes up with horns slowly growing on his forehead. "It's a very, very different type of part than anything I've done before," Radcliffe told EW (who has now got his first picture wearing the horn prosthetic, you can see it as you head inside).

True enough as he describes his character is "deeply emotional and also extremely outrageous in some ways". His character is accused of violently raping and murdering his girlfriend the night before he wakes up finding out that he's growing horns. This leads him to finding out of his newly possessed power, something remotely different from what he had in the Harry Potter movies, as he can take people to trance, compel them to give into their ugliest desires. Somewhat evilish, and intensely dark, this new take for Radcliffe is what I think is fresh and intriguing. He seemingly knew what I had in mind and even closed the convo with "To play somebody who, in the midst of a time of his life of great turmoil anyway, undergoes this horrific transformation into a devil character - it was very, very exciting."

Alexandre Aja - who honestly caught my attention with The Hills Have Eyes and continually grown as a filmmaker with Piranha 3D - directs the film which is based from the Joe Hill fantasy bestseller of the same name. Joining Radcliffe in the cast is Juno Temple, Kelli Garner and James Remar. The movie is hoped for a release as early as next year.
